Top Fall Trends of 2021

September 30, 2021

Fall weather is here! Sweater weather has arrived – temperatures are cooling down, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are out in full force. It’s time to break out the cardigans and boots. Here are the top fashion trends of Fall 2021:

Leather

Leather jackets. Leather pants. Vegan leather. Leather everywhere! This has become one of the most spotted staples, from high fashion to everyday wear, taking your outfit from day to night. Having leather can take your outfit to the next level. Add a little edge to your wardrobe.

Sweater Vests

When you don’t want to wear a puffer coat just yet, or the weather simply doesn’t call for it, sweater vests are for you! Sweater vests are essential for layering underneath a basic long-sleeve top or being paired with a mini skirt and basic tee. It is great to see an article of clothing that was once considered ‘nerdy’ be a ‘cool girl’ part of fashion.

Knitwear

What’s fall without some knitwear? The pandemic, quarantine, and working from home definitely persuaded people to add some more elasticity to their wardrobe. Brands such as Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS and ASOS provide a luxury feeling to being at home. Warm up and read a good book with some cozy matching sets and sweatshirts.

’90’s

Thank Gen Z and TikTok for this: ’90’s fashion is here to stay this Fall. Straight leg jeans, cropped sweaters, and white Air Forces – you name it, it’s there.

Knee-High Boots

Ankle boots had a resurgence last year, but knee-high boots are back in action this year. Knee-high boots elongate your legs and keep you warm if you want to wear miniature things for the other parts of your outfit.

Vivid Colors

You’d think that you would see the typical colors in fall – brown, red, yellow, orange, hunter green, black, etc., but vibrant color schemes have made a return. Expect to see bright pinks, blues, and green hues this season.

Cottagecore

Again, thank you TikTok! We saw cottagecore take over closets by storm, so I’d expect this to continue into the fall. With this in mind, longer dresses are perfect for colder weather.

Workwear

With COVID-19 vaccine requirements being implemented in businesses, hospitals, and other institutions, some people are returning to the office. Workwear will most likely become a thing again.
