Happy week back from Labor Day!
One of the main daily habits I plan on getting back into is reading hardcover and paperback books. Between work and applying for PhDs, balance is much needed.
Nothing is better than a good chapter book! Fall is here, and it is time to cozy up by a fire with your favorite blanket and a brand new book. Below are five books that I am checking out this Fall. If you have any more recommendations, feel free to comment below!
A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins
When a London man is found inside of a houseboat, three women come under suspicion. What are their secrets? Read about their connections to the man and how resentment can turn into a crime of passion.
The Turnout by Megan Abbott
Dance into the world of ballet as you follow Dara and Marie Durant in their newly inherited ballet school, the Durant School of Dance. A mysterious accident is set to cause conflict between the two sisters, causing the sisters’ environment to turn upside down.
L.A. Weather by María Amparo Escandón
Threatened by impending natural disasters, the Alvarado family has to decide whether to abandon the place they know most or brave the disasters together. This novel was recently named the September ’21 book for Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Book Club.
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
Written by the author of Big Little Lies and the inspiration for Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, nine people come together to attend a ten-day retreat. Will they find zen at this getaway, or is there more to this total transformation?
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah is a comedian and satirical news report that never fails to make me laugh. His memoir details his upbringing as a biracial young man in South Africa during Apartheid – full of comedy, of course!
These are my books so far! What are yours?
